National training provider, InterLearn is delighted to announce the appointment of Martin Blakemore as Business Development Manager, specifically for its newly created Health & Safety training division.
Martin brings with him an enviable background, particularly in the Health and Safety sector, having spent much time in a managerial capacity within relevant organisations where this expertise has been vital. He has acquired a broad range of experience training employees in Health and Safety procedures and formulating updated polices. He has been responsible for ensuring that individuals across a variety of businesses had the skills and resources to do a job properly and to encourage safety compliance.
Most recently, he has become well respected in the Apprenticeship sector by helping to develop England’s first Health and Safety orientated Apprenticeship standard which he is expanding and introducing to InterLearn customers where this would be of benefit. The Level 3 Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Technician apprenticeship is a trailblazer, and incorporates an IOSH-based pathway which Martin has been instrumental in bringing to the market.
With full ownership for the business development and operational delivery across Health & Safety, Martin’s first priority will be to generate interest in and implement this SHE Technician Apprenticeship with relevant stakeholders. This will meet InterLearn’s ambitious performance goals to extend its service offer as well as delivering an excellent customer experience to both current and new organisations.
Speaking of the appointment, InterLearn’s Chief Commercial Officer, Michael Bradshaw said: “We’re so pleased with the appointment of Martin as the Business Development Manager for our Health & Safety provision. With the SHE Technician and the Level 7 in Risk Management, we have real complementary programmes to InterLearn’s already expanding provision. Martin will also lead and run our short commercial course programmes in all aspects of health & safety, from manual handling to Mental Health First Aid, which again is a great complementary training service to our existing offer”.
Martin added: “Joining a national training provider like InterLearn suits my intentions perfectly to maximise the impact of these qualifications in the sector. Nobody should have to go to work and not come home again. When the Health and Safety Act was first introduced in 1974 this meant more lives were saved and the intention was that nobody should suffer an injury in the workplace. This is something I feel very strongly about and want to actively promote. I feel that offering this as part of an apprenticeship is the best position for me to be effective in achieving this and to deliver this standard to employees across all kinds of businesses. “
Martin joined InterLearn in February, and the programmes are now available to any organisation that needs to meet its health and safety legislative requirements. For more information visit InterLearn’s website at https://www.interlearn.co.uk/hs or email [email protected]
